Following the announcement of the snap General Election set for 12 December 2019, South West Devon CLP are now able to announce our Parliamentary Candidate: Alex Beverly.

Under “normal” circumstances, candidates would be shortlisted and would take part in an 8-week selection process, culminating in a hustings event. The hustings would be attended by members from the relevant constituency, who would have the opportunity to ask questions and vote for their preferred candidate under a Single Transferrable Vote system.

Due to irregularities in the shortlisting process, SWD Executive Committee attempted to postpone the scheduled hustings event, but the Regional Selection Panel instead took the decision to appoint Alex Beverly as their preferred candidate from the two (of five) remaining candidates.
